Roy's and Ricky's Catering
In 1969, Roy Conner, Sr bought Oliver's Grocery as a small, local grocery
store and hotdog stand. After the larger grocery chains moved into the area, the
grocery side of the business was no longer a viable part of the business. The
food side of the business had grown so popular, that he decided to focus on the
hot food industry. In 1980, Roy began to offer catering for the local Suffolk
community. In 1985, he brought in his son Ricky to help grow the business even
more. The hot food and catering business had expanded so greatly, that he needed
to add the help of his family. He added vans so that he could provide local hot
food and catering to the businesses of Suffolk. Roy, Sr. passed away in 1990,
leaving the business to his son Ricky, and re-named it "Roy's and Ricky's
Catering" in memory of his father.
